Last week I was reminded that I was going to a wedding shower on Sunday and I would need to have a box ready to give to my daughter and future son in law. Well it turned out to be a treasure chest and it will be used for the gift cards at the wedding reception. Jim came up today Monday and helped me set the sump pump well and the drain tile, it was really great to get this done as the next step is to pour the floor in the root cellar/storm cellar and on the shed lean to for the boiler and wood storage. Thanks Jim!

It is the last week in august and Mary and I are on vacation
but the quiet at the home site is so tempting we went up for a few days. I bought a used Bark Buster log splitter a few weeks back and found out that bending down to split wood is a no no. On Wed. I built the table to hold the splitter at a reasonable height and it works very well. All of the wood from clearing the area for the drain field is getting old and needing to be split the bark buster makes that a heck of a lot easier. We have been pumping the swimming pool (the root cellar under the porch) getting ready to put in a proper drain bed and pour a concrete slab floor. this will hopefully be done this fall along with the boiler room and the wood storage. Just so you know the fog in some of the pictures is not fog, the temp outside is 74 degrees and 100 percent humidity and the house was a lot cooler and when we brought the camera out it would not stop fogging up
