I went up to the house today and on the way I stopped by to see how Jay cuts shingles on his band saw mill and I must say it was interesting. The picture where Jay is reaching for a lever on the shingle jig is a of set cam that pitches all of the blocks of wood up at the same time, on thew next pass with the saw he pivots the blocks back down and keeps this up until the wood is to thin to cut any more. After stopping at Jays I went to the house and continued with the never ending story of sanding all of the exposed beams to get them ready for putting finish on them. Sanding is a necessary evil!
