Melissa here are the photos of the trailer that
didn't come up on the other blog. The
tongue is over two feet of of the ground the top of the tank is over eight feet above the road. Also they have a hell of a lot more snow in
Chisholm than we do here.
a little bit of this and of that
As you can see by the pictures the lamination
of the railing is now complete and the pictures show the first coat of a wipe on varnish on the first side. Melissa as you might be able to tell I am using the painting pyramids under the railing. Anthony this is the trailer that we went up to
Chisholm
to buy on
Saturday it is a lot larger than it appears in the picture the tongue is at least 28 inches of the ground the tank is stainless steel and holds 400 gallons it was built in 1954. I will have to lower the
pin tel hitch and remove the tongue jack that is on it now to tow it. The next step is to make several welds on the support pipe for the railing and we will be able to assemble it in the house. I am truly tired of winter it is time to get on with spring.
the circle of lamination !

Jim stopped up and gave me a hand with getting the lamination for the railing set up. The laminated railing will be about 240 inches and as I cannot cut and handle 1/4 inch by 3/4 by 20 foot strips of wood in my shop I will have to use several scarf joints for the twelve strip wide rail. Getting the story going again, the jig in the pictures is a 72 1/2 inch diameter circle that with the help of the blocks and wedges laying next to the blocks will help me glue and hold the strips in place. I am a little apprehensive about the gluing as once you start you will have about 15 min. to
finish the project
