Well it is deep winter and I decided to get the spiral staircase done this month. The project is a little bit daunting and I have had several times when I have wondered about my ability to complete this project. Enough about the winter blues Jim stopped up and gave me some invaluable help cutting the balusters and spindles to length. As you can see in the pictures the placement of the spiral staircase was a little confusing to me. The landing size and placement was a problem of understanding and the only way I could get a handle on it was to build a rough scale model (not shown). For the record everything else in the plans I purchased were very clear but for some reason the size and location of the landing confused me
. I know that the lighting and the clutter in the shop makes it hard to see the mock up of the first two steps, were to help with the length of the spindles. A final note it is Minnesota in winter and I want every body to drive safely.
