Screw it
There are a lot of ways to apply steel roofing but we are going to screw it and that is that! All kidding aside the steel came a little late and we did not get going on it until after lunch but we did finish the day with the west side of the shed covered. As you can see Jay from Woodland Improvements also brought the boards for the siding which we will address after the roofing and trim.

night pix
Mary and I went up Saturday tried out the oven and BBQ some steaks . We were out after sunset and Mary liked the look of the house and asked me to get the camera I know it is a little blurry but I did not have a tripod. Jim gave me a hand on Monday and we put up the purling on the lean to.

The getting old test !!!!
Yes that's it step up and try the getting old test, if it hurts like hell after you have crawled all over the rafters putting up the purlins you may be getting old. Well as you can tell I passed this test with flying colors I HURT ALL THE HELL OVER. Getting on with the blog the lean too needs to have the purling nailed in but Jay can take the forklift cage back thank you Jay. We ordered the steel for the roof today and it will be here in a week.

The Rafters
Are really heavy thank goodness for Jason and his forklift. Jim came up to give hand and we were very successful in that we put up all of the rafters We have yet to tie the lean to on but that will be easy. After this we will need to put up the purlins and hang the steel. I am very much looking forward to putting a cap on this.

Went to the big city
Yes that is a picture of Anthony ( the brush bunny ) I just had to put up a couple of pictures of taking down a couple of problem trees in front of the house. The trees were 14 to 20 inches and leaning up against and damaging the gutters not to forget that they were filling up the gutters with needles every other week. Anyway I got a trailer load of pine out of it.

ticked off enough to dig dirt
The first three pictures are of the attic access hatch which just slides in to seal. the close up of the door and the gasket shows how it will seal, with the aid of a old bicycle tube I stapled on a gasket to the back of the door frame. There is no such thing as easy digging in the soil that I have in Mille Lacs county, it is full of rocks and heavy sticky clay. but the picture does not due the amount that I have dug justice it is almost 3 feet deep and about 15 feet that I have dug so far.

Grout and window trim
We went up labor day and grouted the tile behind the wood stove and over the cook stove. While I waited for the grout to set I cut all of the quarter round for all of the windows I am going to start on the shop this week.

State fair week
The tub pedestal is tiled and in the second photo it has been grouted and I have the supply to the faucet in place. The tile behind the wood stove and over the kitchen stove is applied and tomorrow I will grout them both. This week it has gone from the upper 90 degrees and muggy as all get out to today it never got warmer than 59 degrees what a week.
