The sheet rock has been hung taped and sanded and now it is time to clean up. Jim came up and helped on wed and it was a lot of needed help I might add. Thursday I went up and scrubbed and mopped and mopped etc. but it is now clean enough to prime the walls and put some finish on the ash trim. I am planning on priming the walls next week this weekend we have several graduation parties to attend. I want to thank Adam, Jeff and Rich for the great job on the sheet rock, Thanks.

It has been a long week it started on Monday when I arrived at the house the taper Jeff was all ready there and going at it. I cut in soffit vents on the lower floor which required eating a lot of sawdust. I also found out how long it takes to wash all of the lower level windows ( about 45 min. ) Jim came up and helped me get going on the false posts which is the vertical wire chase between cord wood sections they needed to be cut to length and each one had at least a outlet box to be cut out, some had an outlet and a switch box. We also had to cut and rip the horizontal one by eight boards for the wire chase above the cord wood. Today I went up and found that I was working alone again, but I cut out all of the outlet boxes in the verticals. I did take a look at the bathroom tub enclosure that I will need to build. When we were at restore last week we purchased a used Whirlpool bath and it requires a pedestal to support it and I drew up the plan for that and a stub wall between the tub and the vanity. I know it does not sound like a lot but the week sure did disappear.

This was the last sheet of sheet rock going
up and I did get the impression that Adam was very happy to see the last sheet. It took a little more than three days and Adam single-handed hung all of the rock. Jim and I helped by putting up the scaffolding and getting the cut offs out of the way as he worked, I think it looks pretty darn good. On monday Adams partner Jeff will start the taping We all are looking forward to this.

The sheet rock is going up it will put a totally different feel to the place. I picked up a huge batch of trim from woodland improvements (Jay) today. Jim helped me put the last little bit of work in to be able to hang the sheet rock. Jason Frank really came through with the 3/4 ash boards they are beautiful I will be using them to finish the chase above the cord wood and the false posts between wall sections.

We all went up to inspect the acid dye on Saturday and highlight it as needed. After that we had to let it dry and Mary and I went up today to scrub it and wet vacuum to see what it looks like. here are three different angles of it now that it is ready to be sealed. I am going up on Monday to put on the sealer then it will need to dry for two days before I can put a couple of coats of wax on to finish it.
