What You See
What you see includes everything that needs to be finished, it's getting close. Jim and I set the window and raised the wall 64 inches today and if you add that to the fact that it was a beautiful day, that's a lot.

Wall 17
We started wall 17 on friday we now have it ready to set the double window box. I will need to split, cut and clean more wood for the remaining walls. I had hoped to get to it on saturday but We are having a problem with the tires on the car and will have to address that first. Anyway I will get to it as soon as I can.

16 tons and what do you get
Well it was not really like John Henry's song but it seemed like it. It rained all day and I mixed the paper crete in the rain, as you can see. With a little help from Mary, Grandma and Jim we got it done but it was so dark that for the first time it was necessary to use a drop light.

75 percent sort of
Yes it is August 11TH and we are now officially 75 percent done with the cord wood. That is not the complete story though we have only one full panel then 3 double windows and the double door. Just to clue everyone in that is 90 days for the first 15 walls and I have high hopes that We will be able to close up in a whole heck of a lot less than 30 days!!!!

Lots of company
We had lots of company today Ron one of our neighbors brought some friends from Mississippi by to see the house He gave them the cordial wood web site and they have been watching it and since they were in the area they had to see it. Gerry another new friend brought a couple of new neighbors by to say hi and then there was the tax assessor and his assistant plus Jason from woodland improvements came by. Mary is on vacation and was up to help as you can see in the picture she is final cleaning wood for the wall tomorrow, also you can see we are ready to close up wall 15. The weather is really sticky today and as we have been so darn spoiled so far this year I guess we can suck it up.

truly a 3 day wall
Yes it was a three day wall but I am not sure I want to do that again. It was a heck of a lot of pointing in the near dark, some really heavy overcast came in and made it hard to even see the wall inside. The wall is done thank goodness. We only have one full wall panel left then 3 double window panels the double door panel and finishing the single window panel that we have started. Things are looking up!

A river runs thru
Well Melissa I don't know about you but it looks good to me. I think when the pattern you laid out is done it will look great. We are going to try to finish the wall in three days you will be able to see the finished wall tomorrow night.
