The day started out as a lot of them seem to these days, Jim and I stopped by Timberland Improvements to pick out some boards for the porch and Jason was very happy to help and he delivered them to the the site as an added benefit. The first picture is showing me mortising for the ridge beam to sit in. The second picture is setting the post and lagging it in with a impact wrench. The third picture is of Jim on the roof helping set the ridge beam in. And then the rest of the story the compound angles. The walls of the porch go out at 9 degrees and then it gets tricky each rafter length is unique, and that does not include the shorter length increases the pitch of the roof a little with each rafter. see the last picture. OH WELL WHAT THE HECK.
